What If One Afternoon Could Shift How You Feel For A Whole Season?
Hello beautiful friend,
When was the last time you did something just for you?
Something that filled your cup so fully that you couldn’t help but pour into others for the days following?
I know how easy it is to give so much to everyone else - your family, your work, your home - and suddenly realize your tank is nearly empty. I’ve been there more times than I can count…
Four years ago was a huge turning point for me. I was pregnant with my third child, Coco. I was taking care of my then 3 year old Hudson and 1 year old Kenzie nearly full time, with just a few mornings to myself. My husband was traveling a lot. We were busting out of our old house and building a new home, of which I was the designer. I was also navigating closing my postpartum doula business and trying to figure out what was next for me. To put it mildly, I was feeling extremely overwhelmed. A far cry from the woman you know today!
One morning as I was journaling, the words “LET GO” hit me like a ton of bricks. Let go of saying yes to the people and events that drained me. Let go of driving yourself nuts trying to keep the house immaculately clean. Let go of feeling guilty leaving my husband alone with the kids so I can do something for myself. Let go of filling my calendar to the point of exhaustion. Let go of overthinking, overdoing, over everything. Let go of the neverending perfectionism (aka control!) and trying to be “supermom”!
I needed to let go and start refilling my own cup.
As I began to rearrange and let go, I started yearning for experiences that felt nourishing + restorative for my mind, body, and spirit. I began craving more in-person connection with like minded souls. While I will always love a concert or going out to dinner on a patio, my favorite kind of fun became sound baths, group meditations, moon ceremonies, energy healing sessions, and women’s circles.
I realized there is something so magical about coming together in person with a group of women - something you can’t get through a screen (although Zoom gatherings can be potent). There’s a deeper connection that happens by being live in community with kindred spirits - the kind of connection that truly fills your cup!
I also noticed how these events never come together by chance. The Divine is always working on our behalf and weaving the perfect group together at the perfect moment. We’re guided to sit next to certain people and have certain conversations. Like when I sat next to a woman last year who was also an energy healer with three kids, and is now my amazing friend! Or when I had up a conversation with a stranger, that ended up being the perfect synchronicity I needed to hear to help me answer a question I’d been mulling over.
In person gatherings are sacred, special, and they’re needed now more than ever!
This is exactly why I hosted The Nourished Mother event for the local mamas in my community. Through gentle breathwork, meditation, guided journaling, visualization, and discussion we slowed down, cleared our minds + energy, and filled our cups before the busyness of the holidays.
If you missed my event or you’re not local to Atlanta, you can experience the magic for yourself by scheduling a 1:1 virtual session with me. You will leave feeling lighter, centered, & fully aligned - with simple tools + valuable daily practices to reset your mindset + energy anytime you need them!
These sessions are potent, restorative, and deeply nourishing. Feel free to email or DM me on instagram (the.highvibe.soul) if you have any questions!
From My Light To Yours,
Xo Lyndsey
